Alzheimer’s Australia Vic is the state’s peak dementia body. The organisation was founded in 1983 and is a member of the Alzheimer’s Australia network. We are an independent not for profit organisation.
Our vision is a society committed to the prevention of dementia, while valuing and supporting people living with dementia. Our mission is to provide leadership in dementia policy, risk reduction and services.
We are here to provide education, support, information, advocacy and awareness. Through these five areas, we help make the lives of people living with dementia a little easier. We do this by:
- Assisting carers and families to manage the daily challenges that dementia brings - Working with care staff and students to deliver best practice in dementia care - Teaching the community about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle to help reduce dementia risk
